Alpha Chapter of California is happy to announce that it
will grant a limited number of graduate fellowships for 2008. These fellowships
will be awarded to members of Phi Beta Kappa who are enrolled as doctoral
students in the Graduate Division of the
Preference will be given to students who have nearly completed their dissertations and who have exhausted other forms of financial support, although all members of Phi Beta Kappa are eligible for these fellowships. Other grants will be awarded by the Northern California Association of Phi Beta Kappa through the same application process. Last year, a total of six fellowships of $5,000 were awarded to Berkeley Phi Beta Kappa members.
The application form for 2008 will be available on this website as of November 1st, in the Graduate Fellowship Office, and on the bulletin board outside the PBK office, M14 Wheeler Hall.
Applicants should return completed form and supporting materials to Phi Beta Kappa office in M14 Wheeler, not later than 3 p.m. on February 20, 2008, together with assurance that you can attend our initiation ceremony in Wheeler Auditorium on Thursday, May 14 at 4 p.m.. Attendance is mandatory for fellowship recipients unless they are out of the country.
Winners will be announced in late April, 2008
